Empower Youth for Work (EYW) project is being implemented in Rangpur and Rajshahi district with financial support of IKEA foundation and technical assistance of Oxfam Bangladesh. The EYW project is working under 4 thematic areas for 33488 youths aged of 15-29. The aim of the project is socio-economic development of the youth in the areas affected by climate change.

Major Achievements

• 193 youths received non-certified vocational training on 12 different trades. 60% of them had joined different organizations and the rest had created self-employment opportunities.
• 390 youths (62.5% female) received entrepreneurship development training. 184 youth received business assistance at the rate of Tk. 5,000-20,000 to start their own business.
• 324 youths received life skills training on personal, mental and physical development.
